"I have known Len Rosa for several decades, and it is with great pleasure that I profess that you will not meet a more honorable and trustworthy person in this business than Len. He is a true gentleman and sincere to the bone! You can be most confident when dealing with him. It has been my great pleasure to know him for all these years!" Dave Mark, owner of Anne Arundel House, an 18th & 19th Century Antiques & Militaria company. Dave has 60 plus years of collecting experience, 45 plus years as a full-time dealer, author, and a contributor to numerous books and articles.

"As a military museum curator and private collector I have known Mr. Rosa for more than three decades. He is an outstanding dealer of historic artifacts. He has a great knowledge of historic materials and is always honest and fair in his business transactions. I have never found any problems with his listings or transactions. I highly recommend him as a trustworthy dealer of historic materials." Michael J. McAfee, Military Museum Curator USMA, West Point, and Collector of historic photography, Author and Museum Consultant.

"For the many years I have known Len Rosa he has been a constant student of history, a dedicated collector, and a fair and honest dealer. My interactions with Len have always been pleasant and I recommend him for his knowledge and integrity." Steve Sylvia, Author and Publisher of North South Trader’s Civil War magazine. "I have been purchasing vintage, original Civil War letters and photographs from War Between the States Memorabilia and Len Rosa for more than 25 years. Several of the most important photographs in my collection have come from him. I can personally attest to Len's integrity, honesty and fairness as a dealer -- one whose passion for Civil War history and sharing it with others is fully as important as the marketing side of his business." Bob Zeller, President, The Center for Civil War Photography. Mr. Zeller is also the author of several excellent books on Civil War Photography.

"It has been my pleasure to know Len Rosa for many years. He has always been professional and honest in all of our dealings and I would highly recommend him to any collector whether new or seasoned. Thank you for all of your kind words, loyalty and support as I am proud to be celebrating my 48th year as the proprietor of War Between The States Memorabilia. I have also been a collector of historical memorabilia for 64 years!

To my many friends and clients across this great country of ours, I have a sad announcement to make. Due to my extremely bad case of degenerative cervical, lumbar and sciatica diseases, two bad hips, one replaced, two bad knees both damaged with bone spurs, and chips, and too many epidural injections received in all of those areas mentioned above over the last 25 years to remember, plus diabetes and glaucoma to round things off!

It is starting to look like I will be forced to retire in the near future. If you have recently placed any orders with my company I apologize for the delay in shipping. Please be patient with me as I solemnly promise you will get everything that you ordered. After 48 years as a full time American historian, I have earned an untarnished reputation for honesty, integrity and fair dealings and although I was hoping to reach the 50 year mark in business that is not going to happen, and I do not plan to tarnish my name and reputation over my last few months in business! What a beautiful ride it has been meeting and befriending so many of you nice folks all over America, and getting to handle some of the neatest memorabilia you can ever imagine. They say when you love your job you never work a day in your life, well I am not willing to go that far, but Joanne and I sure came very close to that goal. Being able to share our common passion for history together, that is a blessing I can never give enough thanks for! We had an incredible journey through time!

I also greatly miss many of my dearest friends who have gone ahead to that great bivouac in the heavens! Your mentorship and friendship was an extreme pleasure! and blessing to a young man who found his calling in telling America's story! Once upon a time I would have told you that you were absolutely insane to tell me I passed up an opportunity to sign a professional baseball contract with the Cincinnati Reds, in the days of "The Big Red Machine." However, God's plan for me worked out just fine. For one thing had I signed that contract at 17 years old, I would never have met my beautiful and loving wife Joanne, and yes, I missed out on my boyhood dream, one that many young boys share, but something deep inside of me told me to go to college instead. Major League Baseball would still be there later if I was good enough to make it into a career. As it turned out, I landed on my feet, and with my wife's unwavering backing, I had a wonderful fulfilling marriage and career! I have no room for complaints.

Other than being slow in listing new items for sale, and packing and shipping orders, the one thing you can always count on is that all of the items I sell unless clearly described as a reprint, are always 100% guaranteed original and authentic to that period of history they represent.

Since I am in a wheel chair and can no longer walk or drive, and my eyesight is starting to fail me from the glaucoma, I have to rely on my care giving team to help me. My head young lady, Bristly has been so kind and wonderful to me that I could not have hand picked a better person in the world! In the almost 2 years we have worked together, she has been the guiding light that runs my household and business, and we have adopted each other as "FAMIGLIA." I could not love this young lady any more if she was of Joanne and I's own flesh and blood. It is so ironic that Joanne and I lost our only child after 5 months, and after Joanne passed away and literally left me all alone, this talented and loving and caring young lady walked into my life at a most critical time, and she literally saved my life! That is no exaggeration!

I will be losing Bristly as my care giver shortly as she is about to bring her own beautiful young daughter into the world. The joy on her face is contagious and having watched her go through the last 8 months I have been very privileged to get somewhat of what being a grandfather must feel like! I am so excited for her and Connor. Although we probably won't be working together anymore we both vowed to stay in each others lives as friends, but better yet of course as "FAMIGLIA."

I also have to give a big shout out to my best friend from Lyndhurst, Stephen DeJessa. Steve and I first met when we were 5 years old and attending Roosevelt School. Our friendship has survived all of these years and we literally talk to each other on the phone every single week, sometimes for 2 or 3 hours!

We were the best men at each others weddings, he worked for my Dad for several years back in the 1970's and 1980's, and he was certainly loved very much as a family member by my parents, and Joanne and myself. I would never had made it this far if it weren't for you Steve! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

For those of you who did not know this Steve is a cancer survivor, and despite his own hellish experience, he always had time for his old buddy and brother, "Rosa Boy." I would also like to say that I wish each and every one of you has such a great friend in your lives too!
